Fade a video in or out
Bring a video in from black and fade it back to black. Set the opening and closing durations in the video editor.

A guest task may be available for eligible files. Further access depends on your account, allowance, plan or credits. Cloud processing uploads your file and uses credits; check the access shown before processing.
A fade changes how the picture arrives and leaves. Pick the timing around the opening and closing moments you want viewers to see.
How It Works
Set the opening and closing durations
Add one video, up to 100 MB. Let it load before choosing your settings.
In Fade & Transitions, set Fade In for the opening and Fade Out for the ending. Adjust them in 0.5-second steps. The maximum follows the clip duration, up to 10 seconds.
The editor initially displays 0 for each fade. Set the durations explicitly. A zero value or reset does not reliably remove the corresponding fade in the current workflow.
Watch both ends of the saved video
Keep MP4 selected under Output for this workflow. Click Process Video Fade. When processing finishes, use Download; an automatic download may also start after five seconds.
Watch the opening and closing seconds of the saved video and listen to the sound. Keep the original so you can compare the timing and try another set of durations.
Questions about Video Fade
The editor has separate Fade In and Fade Out controls, but a zero value can leave an unwanted fade on the other end. Check both ends of the saved video before relying on a one-ended fade.
Audio behavior can differ by processing path. Listen to both ends of the saved video before relying on the result. This tool does not guarantee an audio-only fade.
Select one MP4, WebM, MKV, AVI, MOV, M4V, FLV, WMV or 3GP file, up to 100 MB. Some codecs or files may still fail to open or process.
No. A fade changes one clip's entrance or exit, typically toward black or silence. A crossfade overlaps the end of one clip with the start of another. Do not expect the fade tool alone to create an overlapping transition between separate videos.
