How It Works
How to remove an object
1. Open the image
Upload one JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 25 MB. Keep your original for comparison.
2. Paint the area to remove
Adjust Brush Size and paint over the object, covering its edges without selecting more of the surrounding scene than needed. For example, use a smaller brush near a chair leg you want to keep. Choose Clear if you need to redraw the selection.
3. Remove and inspect
Click Remove Objects. Check where the filled area meets its surroundings: straight edges, repeating patterns and shadows can make an uneven fill noticeable. Use Download when you have a result you want to keep. Process Another lets you start another image.
The filled area is a reconstruction
The tool fills the area you painted. That fill is an estimate of the background, so compare it with the surrounding photo. A large selection or a complicated background may need a different approach. Keep important faces, text and details outside the selection unless you intend to change them.
Common questions
Yes. Use Remove Background when your goal is to cut out a subject, rather than paint over individual objects.
The tool has to reconstruct the covered area from nearby visual information. Large selections and patterned backgrounds make that harder. Try a more precise selection and inspect straight lines, tiles, and repeated textures before downloading your preferred result.
