Start with what’s already on the page. If you’re changing existing words, choose Edit. If you’re adding an answer or a note in a blank space, choose Text.
How It Works
How to edit a PDF in MiOffice
1. Open your PDF and find the page
Open your PDF and go to the page you want to change. Zoom in enough to select the right words or place your answer neatly. If you’re rewriting several pages and still have the original Word or design file, start there instead; you’ll have more control over the layout.
2. Change existing text—or add a new text box
Choose Edit, then click a text block the editor has detected. Change the wording and check how it fits. Replacing a date is a good example of a short edit. Replacing a few words with a whole paragraph needs more care: the extra text may overlap what’s beside it rather than move the rest of the page down.
Need to type somewhere blank? Choose Text and place a text box where your answer belongs. Adjust its position and font size so it fits without covering nearby content.
3. Fill out a form or add feedback
Filling out a form? If your PDF has interactive fields, choose Forms to fill the supported fields. If you’re looking at printed lines that don’t behave like fields, use Text to put your answers over them.
Reviewing a document? Highlight the area you mean, then add a short text note explaining what needs changing. For example, mark a delivery date and write the replacement beside it. You can also underline, strike through, draw, or add shapes when those make your feedback clearer.
4. Save and inspect your exported PDF
When you’re finished, click Save / Export PDF. Open the downloaded copy before you send it: does the new text fit, and are your form answers where they should be?
Export your PDF before closing or refreshing the tab.
Which PDF editing tool do you need?
| What you want to do | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Correct a short line | Use Edit on a detected text block. Check the exported result for spacing and font changes. |
| Type on a blank line | Use Text. This also works for adding visible answers to a non-fillable form. |
| Complete an interactive form | Use Forms for supported text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns. |
| Review a document | Use the markup tools to call attention to an area, then add a text note where an explanation is needed. |
| Rewrite a long section | Edit the original source document when available. Longer replacements may overlap nearby content rather than reflow the page. |
Limits to know
A scanned page isn’t the same as editable text
If you click a word and can’t select it with Edit, your PDF may be a scan—a picture of a page rather than editable text. You can still type over it with Text or add markup. To recognize the words themselves, you’ll need a separate optical character recognition (OCR) step.
Replacement text can look different
If your replacement text looks different, the PDF’s font may not include the new characters you typed. The editor can fall back to another font, which may change the spacing. That matters when you’re trying to match the original document.
Questions about editing PDFs
Yes—use Text to place your answers over the blank lines. The answers will appear on the page, but you won’t be creating new clickable form fields.
You download an edited copy. Keep your original separately so you have something to return to if you want to start again.

Yes. You can add text and mark up pages using the mobile toolbar. Selecting a small text block or placing a note precisely is harder on a phone, so use a tablet or computer for precise text selection and placement.
Download the edited PDF and reopen that downloaded copy. Inspect changed text, added elements, and form values on every affected page. Keep the original until the exported result looks right in the viewer your recipient will use.
No. This editor’s Redact control draws a black rectangle over the selected area; it does not remove the underlying content. Use a dedicated PDF redaction tool that deletes underlying text and images before sharing sensitive documents.
