How It Works
Choose an archive and extract its files
Select one archive up to 500 MB. Accepted formats include ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZ, BZ2 and XZ, including TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2 and TAR.XZ.
Click Extract to process the archive’s file entries. You can choose what to download afterward, but you cannot select a subset before extraction. If the archive needs a password, use a desktop archive application.
If extraction fails, check that the file is a complete archive. A file that opens in a desktop application may still use archive features this browser tool cannot read.
Save and check the extracted files
Download individual results, or use Download All. Depending on your browser, saving all files may let you choose a folder or download a ZIP containing the results. A single result is saved directly.
Turn off Auto-download before extracting if you want to review the results before saving.
Before you discard the archive, open the files you need and check that none are missing. Empty entries are skipped, and a successful extraction can still omit entries that failed.
Questions about archive extraction
Do not rely on it. The tool presents extracted files by filename rather than recreating the archive’s folder tree. Duplicate filenames receive numbered suffixes.
No. There is no password field for extraction. Use a desktop archive application if your archive requires a password.
Compression can store repeated data compactly, so the extracted contents may be much larger than the archive. Check that your device has enough space before extracting a large file. Open only contents you trust, especially executables or scripts.
