How It Works
Choose the files and quality
Add up to 50 WebP files, with a limit of 50 MB per file. Start with Quality at 80, or lower it to try a smaller copy. The slider runs from 10 to 100 in steps of 5.
Check the result even when you leave Quality unchanged. During on-device processing, the tool can lower encoding quality further if its first attempt isn’t smaller than your original; the number on the slider doesn’t guarantee a final size or quality level.
Compress and inspect the results
Click Compress, download the result, and compare the file sizes. If you processed several images, use the batch download control to save the results together.
Look closely at lettering, edges and smooth gradients at the size you’ll actually use. If they’ve lost detail you need, keep the original or try a higher setting. An already efficient WebP may not become smaller.
Questions about Compress WebP
Use this tool for static WebP images. The image compression workflow does not preserve an animation sequence.
The original may already be efficiently compressed. Further reduction can require a lower quality setting or smaller dimensions. Compare the actual downloads and keep the original if the size saving is too small to justify the visible change.
