How It Works

Step 1Choose a resolution explicitly
Step 2Check dimensions after processing

Choose a resolution explicitly

Open one MP4, WebM, MKV, AVI, MOV, M4V, FLV, WMV or 3GP file, up to 100 MB. Your device may have a lower on-device limit, and an accepted extension does not guarantee codec support.

In Output, open Resolution and choose 480p (SD), 720p (HD), 1080p (Full HD), 1440p (2K) or 4K (2160p). Each numbered choice sets the output height; width adjusts proportionally to an even pixel count.

Choose the resolution requested by the place you will use the clip. For example, select 720p when an upload asks for a 720-pixel video height. Raising resolution adds pixels but does not recover detail missing from the recording.

Select a numbered resolution explicitly. The initial Original display is unreliable on this tool: processing without changing the editor can still resize to 1080p. Do not use that initial display as confirmation that dimensions will stay unchanged.

Check dimensions after processing

Choose MP4 or Web Video in Output. The Quality slider starts at 23, with Higher Quality and Smaller File ends. File size is not guaranteed to fall just because you choose fewer pixels.

Click Process Resize Video, then inspect the result and use Download. Before you share it, check the saved file’s dimensions, watch the picture and listen to the sound. Keep your original for another size later.

Web Video produces WebM content, but the download name may still end in .mp4. Verify the actual format before passing the file to another app.

Questions about resizing video

The numbered Resolution settings scale height and adjust width proportionally. They do not select a crop region. Leave the other editor controls unchanged when you only need a resolution change.

The Resolution control offers presets from 480p to 2160p, plus Original. It does not provide custom width and height fields.

Do not rely on the initial Original display in this workspace. With the editor unchanged, processing can use a 1080p default. Choose a numbered resolution explicitly and verify the downloaded dimensions.

Eligible on-device tasks may offer a guest trial when the current rollout and your device allow it. Otherwise sign in. Cloud processing uploads your file and uses credits; check the mode and charge before starting.

Not by itself. Resizing increases the frame dimensions but does not recreate detail that was never captured. Compare the output at normal viewing size and avoid a larger export if it only increases file size without improving the picture.

Resolution describes the number of pixels; aspect ratio describes the shape of the frame. You can reduce resolution while preserving the same shape. Moving from a landscape frame to a vertical one also requires a decision about cropping or padding.
