Choose the format your next app needs—MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or AAC—and save a converted copy.

How It Works

Step 1Choose the output format
Step 2Decide whether to change advanced settings
Step 3Convert and check the file

Choose the output format

Upload one MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC or WMA file up to 100 MB.

In Options, choose Output Format: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or AAC. Start with the receiving app’s requirements. If it asks for WAV, choose WAV here; MP3 is the default.

Use Output Format in Options for the conversion. The separate Format control under Output Settings does not change this tool’s export format.

Decide whether to change advanced settings

Open Advanced Options if you need to change Bitrate, Sample Rate or Channels. The defaults are 192 kbps, 44,100 Hz and Stereo. Keep them unless you have a reason to change them.

Choose 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps for Bitrate; 22,050, 44,100 or 48,000 Hz for Sample Rate; and Mono or Stereo for Channels.

You can leave Bitrate alone for WAV and FLAC—it is not used for those outputs. With OGG, it selects an encoding quality level rather than a fixed bitrate.

Convert and check the file

Click Process Audio Converter. Your copy uses the format you chose in Options. It downloads automatically when your access allows it, and you can also click Download in the result.

Open the saved file in the app you plan to use. Check that it plays all the way through and has the channels you intended.

Questions about audio converter

No. WAV can store the decoded audio without another lossy encoding step, but it cannot restore detail already removed by MP3 compression. Keep your highest-quality original for editing and export a sharing copy when you finish.

Bitrate affects how much data an encoded audio file uses per second. Sample rate describes how often the sound is sampled. Raising either setting cannot recover missing detail from a low-quality source; choose settings appropriate to the destination.

Mono is often sufficient for a single centered speaking voice. Stereo preserves left and right differences, which matter for music and spatial recordings. Listen to the result before replacing a stereo source with a mono copy.

Often, yes. A lower bitrate or a more compact output format can reduce file size while keeping the duration. Listen to speech and music after converting because a smaller file can introduce audible distortion.
