How It Works

Step 1Choose a clear moment
Step 2Extract the frame and save the JPEG

Choose a clear moment

Choose one MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, or MKV file, up to 500 MB. Enter the moment you want in Timestamp (seconds). The starting value is 5; 10.5 means ten and a half seconds into the clip.

Pick a time comfortably before the end. A timestamp in the last half-second or beyond the clip can return a frame from the middle instead, so inspect the image rather than relying on the number alone.

Extract the frame and save the JPEG

Click Process Extract Video Thumbnail. Check the image that appears, then use Download if the automatic download hasn’t already saved it.

Open the JPEG and look at the detail you need. If the moment is blurred or your subject is looking away, change Timestamp (seconds) and try a nearby time. Each run extracts one frame.

Questions about extracting a frame

No. The upload limit and on-device processing limit are different. Your file and device may require cloud processing, which uses credits.

Choose a frame with a sharp subject, a readable expression, and little motion blur. Avoid transition frames and moments with half-closed eyes. Inspect the downloaded image at the small size where the thumbnail will actually appear.
