How It Works
Check the edges before you resize
Start with the people, captions or details you need to keep. A wide shot becomes much narrower in a vertical frame. For example, two speakers at opposite sides of a landscape shot may not both fit in the centered crop.
This tool uses a centered crop. There is no Fit Mode menu in this workspace to switch to a blurred background or black bars. If the crop removes something you need, keep the original and reframe the shot before using this tool.
Create your vertical copy
Open one video
Open one MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI or MKV file, up to 500 MB. Check the processing options offered for that file: your device may have a lower limit for local processing.
Keep the resize defaults
For a basic resize, leave the effects unchanged. In Output, keep MP4 selected and Resolution at Original. You do not need to enter 1080 × 1920 yourself; this tool supplies that target size.
Process and save the result
Click Process Resize Video for Shorts. Once the result downloads, play the saved copy from start to finish. Check that faces and existing captions stay inside the vertical frame as the scene changes. Keep your original so you can make another version if the crop is too tight.
Questions about vertical resizing
No. Changing the frame shape or resolution is separate from trimming the duration. Check the destination's current upload requirements and trim separately if needed. Do not assume a correctly shaped video automatically meets every publishing requirement.
