How It Works

Step 1Choose a speed
Step 2Process and download the video
Step 3Check the starting setting

Choose a speed

Open Speed & Time and adjust Speed from 0.25x to 4x in 0.25 steps. For a quick choice, use the 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, or 4x buttons.

SettingEffect on the clip
0.5xSlower playback; roughly twice the running time.
1.5xFaster playback; roughly two-thirds of the running time.
2xFaster playback; roughly half the running time.

Process and download the video

Upload one MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, or MKV file, up to 500 MB. The file limit is separate from the size your device can process locally.

Choose a speed other than 1x and leave Output on MP4. Click Process Change Video Speed. When the result is ready, use Download if the automatic download hasn’t already started.

Play the saved copy and listen to its audio. For example, a one-minute clip at 2x runs for about 30 seconds. Slowing a clip stretches its existing frames; it doesn’t create extra frames to smooth out the movement.

Check the starting setting

If you want to keep the original speed, keep the original file. The initial 1x display can still export at 2x, so don’t use it to make an unchanged copy.

If local processing cannot finish, try a smaller file or select Online processing and review the price before proceeding.

Questions about video speed

Yes. The audio tempo changes along with the video. Listen to speech or music in the saved copy before you share it; a large speed change can make it harder to follow.

Not necessarily. Slowing existing frames can make motion look choppy, especially when the source has few frames. Check the result in motion and use a smaller speed change if needed. A slower timeline does not by itself establish that new intermediate frames were created.
