Check the access and processing mode shown before starting. Cloud processing requires sign-in and available credits; any on-device allowance depends on eligibility and your account.

Bring your recording in gradually instead of starting at full volume. Set the fade-in duration, then save a processed copy.

How It Works

Step 1Set the opening fade
Step 2Do not rely on the fade-out control
Step 3Process and check the opening

Set the opening fade

Choose one MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC, or WMA file, up to 100 MB.

Under Options, set Fade In (sec). It starts at 2 seconds; you can choose 0 to 30 seconds in half-second steps. Keep the fade short enough that the opening words or notes remain clear.

For example, try a 1-second fade on a music intro. A long fade over the first spoken sentence can make those words harder to hear.

Leave Volume & Pan at its defaults and keep the output set to MP3 for this fade-in workflow.

Do not rely on the fade-out control

The current Fade Out (sec) control does not reliably apply an ending fade in this workspace. If your task needs a faded ending, use another editor and listen to the saved ending before sharing it.

Process and check the opening

Click Process Audio Fade and listen from the beginning. Does the sound reach the level you want without hiding the first words or notes?

Use Download to save a copy; the tool may also start downloading automatically. Keep your original recording so you can try a shorter fade.

Questions about audio fade

No. A fade changes volume without removing any part of the recording. Use MP3 Cutter to shorten it, then choose a fade duration that does not hide the opening words or notes.

The Fade Out control does not reliably apply an ending fade in this workspace. If you need a faded ending, use another audio editor and listen to the exported last few seconds before sharing.

No. A fade changes the volume near a clip boundary, including both the wanted sound and background noise. Use denoising for noise within the recording and fades for a smoother entrance or ending.
