Begin with a recording that contains dialogue or narration, such as an interview or presentation. Use Focus (optional) to describe the subject you want the clips to cover.
How It Works
How to create clips
1. Upload the source video
Add one MP4, WebM, MKV, AVI or MOV file within the uploader’s 500 MB limit. The video must be no longer than 20 minutes and longer than the maximum clip length you select. A video without audio is rejected.
2. Set the clip limits
Choose 1 to 5 under Maximum Number of Clips, then set Maximum Clip Length to 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds. You are setting upper limits, not ordering a fixed amount of finished footage.
3. Guide the selection
Choose Highlights or Spread Across Video under Type. Add a focus of up to 300 characters if you want to narrow the subject. For example: “Advice for someone hiring their first employee.” Then click Process.
4. Open the download and review each excerpt
A request for one clip returns an MP4. A request for multiple clips returns a ZIP archive. Open the download and watch the excerpts from beginning to end. Check that each starts with enough context and ends before an unrelated point; return to the source when a cut could change the speaker’s meaning.
Use the clips as editing candidates
Choosing a maximum count does not establish that every returned excerpt is worth sharing. Select the clips that make sense on their own. Do not treat automatic selection as a prediction of audience response.
Common questions
No. The input check requires audio, and this workflow is intended for spoken dialogue or narration.
The source must be longer than your selected maximum clip length. Choose a shorter length or use a longer recording.
Watch the beginning and ending to confirm that the clip makes sense without the full recording. Check that a sentence is not cut off and that the speaker's meaning is preserved. A highlighted moment still needs your editorial judgment before publication.
